June Worship

June 7th: Who I am Not

Guest Preacher Heidi Komorech

Who are we? How does Christ shape who we are?

Spiritual growth and renewal begin with the understanding of who we are in Christ-- and who we are not.

Scripture: Ephesians 3:14-21

Jesus Didn't Say That (And We Should Stop Acting Like He Did):

June 14th-28th

June 14th: I Don't Have to Forgive Someone Who Isn't Sorry

(Communion Sunday)

Rev. Steve Jones

What does forgiveness mean? Who is it for?

Forgiveness is not a blind acceptance or endorsement of someone's behavior, and it is not conditional. Sometimes it is best for all those involved to forgive while also stepping away.

Scripture: Matthew 18:21-22

June 21st: God Will Love Me if I Do More

Rev. Steve Jones

What is the price of God's love?

It is easy to fall into the trap of believing that the amount of love and salvation we are given correlates directly to the number of actions we take in God's name. But our work in faith is not a way to earn love, but to express the love already inherent.

Scripture: Galatians 3:1-5

June 28th: I Have Gone Too Far, and God Has Given Up On Me

Rev. Steve Jones

When does forgiveness end? How far is too far?

To be human is to be imperfect, but it can be hard to fathom that a perfect, holy being would ever have the patience to love and forgive us constantly. But we are never too far gone. We are never beyond an infinite forgiveness.

Scripture: Philippians 1:3-6
